But this episode showed them in a more evocative manner that hit close to home with me. The first time we see their dynamic is in a comical scene when Soo-han reads his essay about his mum loving her expensive ceramics more than she loved him. Like every other mother in SKY Castle, Jin-hee pushes her son to study more and to get better grades. Like mother, like son, Jin-hee’s son, Woo Soo-han (Lee Yoo-jin), is portrayed even more insignificant as the sidekick of Kang Ye-bin (Lee Ji-won), Seo-jin’s younger daughter.īut this episode showed Jin-hee and Soo-han’s relationship as mother and son to be one worth noting. I originally thought of Jin-hee as nothing more but someone who licked Seo-jin’s boots and did as she was told even when she didn’t agree with it. While SKY Castle focuses on Han Seo-jin (Yum Jung-ah), this episode showed us why Jin Jin-hee (Kim Seo-hyung) should not be just considered the sidekick.

This show started on a high for me and while there were parts of the plot I am not sure how I feel about, I do commend the depth of the story about each character.
